Contracting -Transition Between Contract States

The primary party in a contract can upgrade the status of a downgraded or vested contract, regardless of the status of its dependent/ facilitating contracts going forward. For a contract to be eligible for an “Upgrade”:

  • The contract must be in a downgraded or vested state

  • The current user must be the Primary party

  • The current user must have a lock on the contract

  • The dependent relationship(s) to the contract can be in any of the below statuses

    • Terminated

    • Downgraded

    • Vested

    • Denied

When a contract with dependent relationship(s) in the above statuses gets upgraded, the warning message will be displayed “One of the dependent relationships for this case is not active.”

Going forward “Terminated” status will be an option to transition to directly from an Active state

  • An Active state includes the below:

    • Vested

    • Downgraded

    • Downgrading

    • Active - Currently existing as the “Terminate” option

    • Pending - Currently existing as the “Deny” option

Law 14 -Moving to Quebec -Contract Lock

In the scenario where an English contract is required to be updated to French as part of this feature and the contract is locked by another party, a mechanism has been introduced for the process to assume the contract lock for the duration of the procedure. At the end of the procedure, the contract lock will be re-assigned back to original party.

This change was required to ensure that all required contracts are flipped to the appropriate language
